First attempt at a blog…
Hello… Erm, so how do I start, I’m not great at things like this but hopefully I’ll get better with a little guidance and practise.
Right, I’m a working Dad (when I’m not ill, but that’s for another time) and a doting Dad to two beautiful children, although I’m a tad bias. My wife is Ruth and we’ve been together for 9 years, but more recently with the birth of our second child it’s starting to feel like a lifetime.
We had our first child, Alba, in September 2014 and our second Arran in January of this year. The ‘perfect’ family was now complete.
I’m a very family orientated man, and coming from a large family where I’m the eldest of 6 siblings I was never far from helping change a nappy or two. But, to be honest, I love it. I love it all from the 5am wake up calls to the 10pm ‘I need a wee-wee’ calls.
I hope I’m a good dad, all I can say is I try to be, but as I’m sure most of you reading this can appreciate it’s not always easy. Especially when your 2 year old is having a meltdown while you’re busy wiping a ‘korma’ coloured stain from your new borns back and trying to stop the fountain of pee from going all over you, and the baby is just lying there loving life laughing his head off.
As this is my first blog i also want to very quickly mention my wife Ruth, i joked before that it feels like we’ve been together a lifetime, but this is in no way a negative. I feel like we’ve always been together and we were meant to be together. In fact, 100% true story, the very first time I saw her, it was on a photo of my best friend and two girls. One on either side of him on a night out, which happened on a regular occurrence…cough…ahem, but right then I knew she was the girl I was going to end up with.
I’m going to wrap it up for now, mainly as I don’t want to bore you anymore and I can’t think of anything else to write. But, nevertheless I hope you’ve all enjoyed what you’ve read. If you do please show your support and follow this page for updates on any new blogs and don’t be shy please leave a comment.
Until next time…
This real life Dad is out. xx
